The Jagannath temple is reputed to have the world's biggest kitchen. This kitchen employs 500 cooks and 300 cook helpers. One of the mysteries of this kitchen is that even if millions of devotees visit, there is never a shortage of prasad. However, when the time arrives to close the temple entrance, the prasad automatically terminates. This means that no prasad is ever wasted here.

Aside from that, the prasad prepared at the temple is cooked on a wooden burner. This prasad is created with seven different utensils. All seven utensils are stacked one on top of the other. That is, all seven items are arranged like a ladder on the stove. The most startling fact is that the utensil at the top, utensil number seven, is the first to prepare Prasad.
